“Great Self Catering Apartments with beautiful views”
This was my first time trying a self catering apartment and it was wonderful! The apartment was clean, cozy, and there was plenty of room for my friend and I. The owner, Mary, and her son did some quick switching around to make it from a one bedroom to a two bedroom for us and we still had loads of room! We had a lovely patio with table and chair where we enjoyed breakfast most mornings. Just down the hill is a beautiful beach and right behind the apartments is the pub. I strongly suggest stopping in for a pint and a visit with the owner and locals. We had a wonderful time and I recommend a stay here to anyone!

“Beautiful sea view Bed & Breakfast”
Jimmy and Mary were wonderful hosts of this beautiful sea side bead and breakfast near The Old Head area of Kinsale. We had beautiful weather with sunny skies so we were able to take advantage of the spectacular Atlantic Ocean views from their place. Breakfast was in the pub each morning with Jimmy and Mary giving us great travel information about the area around their bed and breakfast. We spent evenings in the pub talking to Jimmy and his family about life in Ireland and beyond.

“A heavenly cozy retreat”
This was by far the favorite of our two week stay, no comparison. The rooms were lovely, the beds are soft and sooo comfy. I was lucky enough to have a jacuzzi tub. I sunk right in and all the soreness of our long trip melted away. TIP: Do not empty the whole vile of bubble bath into the jacuzzi unless you want to be an I Love Lucy episode. I don’t care how small the vile looks, use only a dash. The view from my room was beautiful ocean and I enjoyed the door opening to the ocean, could sit outside with your coffee and watch the waves. Mary, Jimmy and their daughter were lovely. My brother and I even received a personalized lesson of some Gaelic words from Mary..Ahh not A ! We loved the delicious breakfast, especially appreciated were the choices of cereal, fruit, yogurt, as our arteries were clogging from many previous Irish breakfasts (although they are to die for). I loved being able to walk a few steps and have a pint and visit with locals and guests. But our favorite was Mary, she is a very special lady and I can’t wait to go back and see her! Just wonderful people here.
Thank you for an unforgettable stay! (Barbie&Mark)

“great view, great service, but more of a motel than B and B”
We had a room with a little patio looking over the pasture to the ocean. It was quite lovely. This place is removed from the bustle of Kinsale. If you want the quaintness of the town, don’t stay here. If you want a lovely view and a GREAT beach a short walk downhill, this is the place. You can get a pint from the bar and bring it back to your room or drink it outside at a picnic table. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good. Best of all, a five minute drive brings you to the speckled door restaurant with an even better view and great seafood specials. Recommended by the staff. All of this for the one of the least expensive B and Bs we stayed at in Ireland; Not a traditional B and B in any way, but with that view, who needs that. And all at a super price.

“It does not get any better than the Blue Horizon…..”
Yes it is a challenge of sorts to find this beautiful little B&B on the coast…..but worth every KM….our started and ended with two of the greatest hosts imaginable …..Jim & Mary are the finest and friendliest people we met on our entire 5 week Europen holiday……the room was perfect….wi-Fi actually worked with our iPad perfectly…….the Irish Breakfast cooked by Jim and served by Mary is outstanding……but a short distance we found a fantastic spot to eat dinner…actually there were several….The Speckled Door……both food and the service top notch…..the other spot was the Pink Elephant……view from both is spectacular…..it is certain we will return on our next trip to Ireland……

“A Warm Welcome Awaits You”
My husband and I stayed at the Blue Horizon during July 2012. We were delayed on our trip so arrived a bit late but Jim and his daughter Alice were there to give us a warm welcome. Mary and Jim made us feel at home and there was a lovely relaxed feel to the B&B, the breakfasts were delicious. The room was lovely and very comfortable. We had a beautiful view from our room and from most of the living/dining rooms of the house there are views of the countryside and sea. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Blue Horizon and I would recommend it as it is very comfortable and not far from Kinsale and other points of interest.

“Irish B&B Tour”
The best thing about the Blue Horizon is just that, the water close by fills the view, and it’s location by the sea. It is a nice rural Irish place to stay on a B&B vacation trip. Friendly people running the place. Good food and bar on site, and other eating choices within a short drive.

“Great place”
We really enjoyed the B&B and the town of Kinsale. The best part was walking down to the end of the property to find beautiful cliffs. We walked along the cliffs in the evening …was amazed to be the only people out there. The room was updated and had nice views of the ocean.

“Fantastic Hosts”
My wife and I stayed with Jimmy and Mary for 3 nights b & b at the Blue Horizon. They made our stay with them memorable for all the right reasons. We were on holiday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were given room 17 and what a lovely room it was, with a sea view, lovely decor, window blinds and a jaccuzzi bath to boot. On our first night we asked Jimmy where would be good to eat to celebrate our anniversary. He suggested the Pink Elephant Restaurant (what a brilliant choice – review on here) and meal to remember ( Thanks Jimmy). Breakfast each day was great, and Jimmys and Marys way with guests is absolutely brilliant.
The Hotel is situated on top of a hill with breathtaking views all around of sea and scenery.
Thanks again Jimmy & Mary – our stay will be one we will cherish forever. Dave & Jan :O)

“Amazing views- awesome service”
I cannot recommend this B&B enough! Mary was a sweetheart and very accommodating The B&B was super cute, with amazing views of the water. It’s only a 15 minute drive outside of the town of Kinsale and worth the drive.
